Finally holiday without leakage 🏕️

Yes, wonderful that holiday period! Doing nothing at all, although the word “do nothing” does not appear in my dictionary. Because even during my vacation I work on Home Assistant from time to time. 😛

The last 2 weeks my girlfriend and I have traveled to Texel, it’s the island that is overcrowded by Germans in the summer and where we can cross the beach in 10 steps to the sea, instead of walking 1km like other Wadden islands. Only we always have problems with the tent and the weather. The last 3 years we have had a lot of leakage and we were often in the bad weather period of the holiday.

This year that changed! Since two years we have a real “De Waard” tent and this year we treated it with a waterproof impregnating agent and we can tell you (with joy) that it worked! We had rain this holiday, but not a single drop came in.

We had a great holiday, spent a lot of time sunbathing on the beach, visiting all your friends who are also on the campsite and friends who came to visit us. Catching crabs next to the ferry and visiting all the villages on the island.

Unfortunately, a crack has accidentally entered the tent this holiday. Apparently I had tensed the tent a bit too tightly, the wind was sometimes powerful and the canvas of the door was getting thin. Luckily I had duck tape on hand and we go looking for a company that can fix it.

IFA Berlin 2019

I am also looking forward to the IFA fair in Messe Berlin this year. Together with my girlfriend we will travel to Berlin by plane, which will also be the very first flight we are going to do together 💓 I’ve always wanted to go there and this year I finally booked tickets for it.

IFA stands for Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin and it’s the largest and oldest tech fair in Europe. Many large and small companies will show their latest technological developments and prototypes and IFA is a great platform for networking with companies.
