Well who am I actually? Here on the right side you can already see what I look like π
My name is Klaas, 27 years old and living in one of the nicest student cities in The Netherlands -> Leiden. Studying Computer Science at the College of Leiden. In addition to my studies, I especially enjoy working on building an automated home, organizing drone racing events and I like to immerse myself in the latest technology in a very wide area.
“The ultimate goal of a smart home is one that moves with your live style.“
Klaas Schoute
If I had to describe myself then I’m a creative entrepreneur. Likes to develop new things, quickly sees whether there is a market for a new application and a hard worker with an eye on UX / UI experience for the (end) user.
Most people know me from:
- Member of the open source project Home Assistant and the Energy Dashboard as an intern at Nabu Casa
- The many python packages I’ve already released on PyPi.
- Founder of Dutch Drone Squad and NIPKaart
Dutch Drone Squad is a group of enthusiastic drone racers from Alkmaar (The Netherlands) and the surrounding area. Every 2 weeks we hold indoor training sessions, where drone pilots can train with heart and desire for competitions or come purely for fun. These sessions take place in a large indoor cycling track or sports hall.
NIPKaart is one of my funniest and biggest projects I’ve ever come up with. The goal is simple, showing parking locations where someone with a disabled parking card can park. The challenge for me is to collect, process and make all that data available. You can read more about it under projects and in this blog post.
